Multiple expeditions can be combined to complete historic pilgrimage routes in the UK and abroad, adding depth, tradition, and a real sense of achievement to the experience.

CHILHAM → CANTEBURY CATHEDRAL

Step beyond the classroom and into centuries of history as your Year 8 students undertake an unforgettable 12km pilgrimage through the heart of Kent. Following ancient pathways through woodland glades and traditional apple orchards, this transformative day journey from Chilham to Canterbury Cathedral builds resilience, fosters team spirit, and connects young minds with England's rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

THE PORTUGUESE ROUTE

Your students will experience Europe's most legendary pilgrimage as they undertake an epic 8-day, 144km journey from Tui to Santiago de Compostela. This isn't just a walk—it's a transformative adventure that challenges physical limits, builds unbreakable bonds, and connects young people with centuries of human pilgrimage along ancient pathways through the heart of Galicia.

 

THE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE CHALLENGE:

  • 18km daily stages across stunning Spanish countryside

  • Authentic pilgrim experience in historic albergues and family-run pensions

  • Cultural immersion through medieval towns and vibrant local communities

  • Personal resilience tested and strengthened over multiple days

  • Life-changing connections with fellow pilgrims from around the world

  • Official Compostela certificate upon completion of the 100km+ journey

 

This demanding expedition develops self-reliance, mental toughness, and cultural awareness while students become part of a tradition spanning over 1,000 years. They'll return home not just as travelers, but as certified pilgrims who've proven they can overcome any obstacle.

BECKETT WAY: SOUTHWARK  → OTFORD (3 DAY )

The Challenge
  • Duration: 1 day London walk, 2 day 1 night qualifying expedition (can be done in 3 consecutive days)

  • Distance: 12-15km per day with minimum 6-hour walking days

  • Team: 4-7 participants working collaboratively

  • Mode: On foot through urban and rural countryside 

  • Daily set challenges and stamps to collect along the route

What's Included
  • Comprehensive pre-expedition training in navigation, first aid, and campcraft

  • All essential group equipment (maps, stoves, fuel, tents, compasses)

  • Professional supervision and safety management with 1:12 staff ratio

  • Campsite fees and assessor reports

  • Practice expedition to build confidence and skills

  • Basic Navigation and map reading using 1:25,000 scale maps

  • Campcraft including tent pitching, cooking, and camp hygiene

  • Route planning (timings) and teamwork

(5 DAYS- 2 Trips)

The Challenge
  • Duration: 2 days, 2 nights practice expedition followed by a 3 day 2 nights qualifying expedition

  • Distance: 15-20km per day with minimum 7-hour walking days

  • Team: 4-7 participants with enhanced self-reliance expectations

  • Location: Open rural countryside environments

  • All group equipment and camping gear provided

  • Professional leadership and remote supervision with 1:12 staff ratio

PILGRIMAGE

  • Duration: 4 day, 3 nights practice followed by a 5 days, 4 nights qualifying expedition 

  • Distance: Varies by terrain with minimum 8-hour activity days

  • Team: 4-7 participants demonstrating full self-sufficiency

  • Location: North Wales
